The Year of Mistakes!

When 2019 rolled around I was looking for a new quote for my letter board and this quote spoke to me:

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing the world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re doing something.” - Neil Gaiman

I anticipate that in 2019 I will make plenty of mistakes as I launch my career in a different path, managing my own business. Mistakes and failures aren’t pleasant. However, we often learn the most about ourselves in those moments. Consider in your life when you have done the most reflecting and growing? Was it during times of happiness and success, or when you were in pain and struggling?

My hope is that this space will be a place for learning and growing together. Permission to let go of perfectionism, take risks, have courage and live more authentically. So rather than making a New Year’s resolution in 2019, let’s commit together to make more mistakes.
